Diving is remarkably safe — but being ready when something goes wrong is part of being a good diver, and a good human. As a DAN-qualified instructor, we teach the dive world’s most respected emergency-response courses right here in Central Florida.
Emergency Oxygen for Diving Injuries
Recognize decompression illness and deliver life-saving oxygen using multiple delivery systems.
Diving First Aid (DFA)
The most comprehensive first-aid training in the dive industry — CPR, oxygen, neuro, and marine-life care in one.
CPR & First Aid (BLS)
Core life-support skills everyone should have. Open to divers and non-divers.
Related rescue & response courses
Ready to go further? These SSI courses build directly on your emergency-response skills.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue
Learn to prevent, recognize, and manage dive emergencies — and become the diver others can count on in the water.
SSI React Right (CPR & First Aid)
SSI’s emergency-response training — CPR, first aid, and AED skills. Open to divers and non-divers.
Recognized, respected training
These courses are developed by DAN (Divers Alert Network), the dive industry’s leading safety organization — and we teach their curriculum as a DAN-affiliated instructor. The training meets the 2025 international resuscitation guidelines (ILCOR/AHA), and the Diving First Aid and CPR courses are accepted by the U.S. Coast Guard and meet OSHA workplace requirements, so the card you earn is recognized well beyond the dive shop.
You don’t have to be a diver
These courses are open to everyone — no diving experience required. Parents, teachers, coaches, boat crew, workplace first-aid teams, and anyone who wants real, hands-on skills for a real emergency are all welcome. Divers benefit too — they’re a smart step toward Rescue or professional ratings and pair naturally with your scuba certification in Orlando — but you never need to get in the water to take them.
