Open Water Diver
Your first scuba certification
The SSI Open Water Diver certification gives you everything you need to explore the underwater world — the training to dive autonomously with a buddy, no professional supervision required, to a maximum depth of 60 feet (18 m). It is the most recognized entry-level scuba certification on the planet, valid for life and honored at dive centers worldwide.
Course at a glance
You will complete a short water-fitness evaluation and a final exam as part of the course. Divers under 15 certify as Junior Open Water Diver and dive with a certified adult or dive professional. A medical questionnaire is required before training — download the SSI medical form. Classes are semi-private (four students max) and scheduled around your availability — after you book, we coordinate your pool sessions, classroom time, and open-water dives at times that suit you.

Please bring your own personal dive gear for classes and dives:
Dive days can run long, so pack for a day outdoors: sunscreen, a hat or sun shirt, plenty of water, and light snacks or meals. Tip: make sure your mask fits comfortably before class day.
Where you will train
We run pool sessions locally and open-water training dives at Central Florida's clearest, calmest springs.

Short on time? The SSI Scuba Diver rating lets you dive under the direct supervision of a dive professional to a maximum of 40 feet (12 m). It is a perfect first step — and every part of it credits directly toward your full Open Water Diver certification.
